Exploring Hue: A Day Tour from Chan May Port
Morning Activities:
Once we pick you up from the port, our journey to the heart of Hue begins. Our first destination is the Citadel, the crowning jewel of Hue. Within its walls lie the magnificent Imperial City, the mysterious Forbidden Purple City, and the resplendent Emperor’s Residence. Marvel at the intricate architecture and immerse yourself in its rich history. Following our exploration, we’ll relish a delectable lunch at a local eatery.
Afternoon Activities:
Our afternoon kicks off with a serene boat ride along the Perfume River, leading us to the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda. Revered as the unofficial emblem of Hue, this active Buddhist monastery boasts a history that stretches back to 1601. Among its numerous artifacts, a poignant display captures attention: a car once owned by a monk who, in 1963, drove to Saigon and self-immolated to protest the oppressive actions of the South Vietnamese regime against Buddhists.
Post this, our journey takes us to the tranquil grounds of the Tu Duc Tomb. Ingeniously designed to harmonize with its environment, the tomb is a masterpiece of feng-shui principles.
As our tour concludes, we will ensure a comfortable transfer back to the Royal Caribbean Cruise. We trust that your day tour of Hue from Chan May Port will be etched in memory, filled with awe and admiration.
