Off the beaten path Mai Chau adventures

Morning activitiese:

Origin Travel tour guide greeting you at ………… hotel (…………….. street) at 8.00 am, we drive south west of Hanoi and pass Ha Tay province, we stop at Ha Dong Town to visit Van Phuc traditional silk, which is famous for silk weaving in the North of Vietnam, you will have an opportunity to see how local people here made silk by tradition and simple way.

We will continue our drive on narrow roads through lush rice field scenery, look at farmers working their fields by traditional method, and stop for taking pictures along the way up to Hoa Binh town.

We reach the town at about 10:00 am, we then following up mountain curving road from here all the time to reach Mai Chau, the scenery bellow valley is very spectacular, dotted with Muong & Thai house on stilts, far away is high towering peak mountains, on the mountain side minorities people work hard to earn for their living.

We will reach Mai Chau district at about 12:00 noon.
You will feel fresh air and a good climate when you just arrive. Our tour guide set off for your accommodation at a basic village called Pom Coong village, this village is spread out in the middle of Mai Chau green valley, where we will check in a local Thai Minority’s house for our overnight stay today. As quick as possible the Thai people here will prepare a good lunch.

Afternoon activities:

In the afternoon we will take a loop walk through surrounding rice paddies and villages around Mai Chau, in here you will see how local people work, plan and harvest water rice. You will also see animals like buffaloes, pigs, cats, goats…freely around. We will return to Lac village late afternoon after seeing sunset. A warm hospitality and delicious dinner will be prepared at around 7:30 pm at the home where we stay overnight.
We then see a special traditional Thai’s dance until late evening. Enjoy your overnight stay on sleeping mats on the floor of the stilt house

Morning activitiese:

Breakfast at homestay, then you leave homestay to Xa Linh communes, home to H’mong people with their interesting ethnic market (every Sunday morning in Xa Linh). And next transfer to Pa Co Sunday market (40 km from Mai Chau). The market is a small one that runs every Sunday in Pa Co village where local people, mostly H’Mong, come from the surrounding neighborhood to trade. Market starts early in the morning and finishes a couple of hours before noon.

Then take a relaxing walk in the neighboring villages of Sailing. This short trip is worth every minute of your time from the great drive to the interaction with the local people of different tribes.

Afternoon activities:

In the afternoon you visit Hang Kia, passing villages of Muong and Dzao tribal groups. We arrive in Hang Kia, a typical H’mong village, peacefully nestled in a small valley at 1200m altitude. Have more enjoyment at tea hill or plum garden which flower bloom beautiful on Jan and Feb yearly
And then the driver transfers you back to your homestay in Mai Chau. Have dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at Mai Chau

Morning activitiese:

After breakfast at the home stay, You cycle around village roads which run between mountains and rice paddies around Mai Chau to get more enjoyment at Lac Village. Then you leave Mai Chau to return to Hanoi.

Afternoon activitiese:

This afternoon we visit Hoa Binh hydroelectricity built with help from Russia; from the Hoa Binh Dam you will see very beautiful scenery of the Red River Delta. Late afternoon return to Hanoi, we drop you at Hanoi airport at about 17.00 pm. Wishing you a great trip with us!
