1. Where is Dong Thap?
Dong Thap is a coastal province in the Mekong Delta region. With diverse terrain, stretching from the southwestern border of Vietnam to the southeastern coastal region. It is about 80 km southwest of Ho Chi Minh City. With geographical location:

Even in the rainy season, travel experiences are not affected too much.

4. How to get to Dong Thap?
Dong Thap is located about 150–170km from Ho Chi Minh City and nearly 1,900km from Hanoi. With a convenient transportation system, so you can choose many different forms of transportation to get to this lotus land.
4.1 Traveling by plane
Currently, Dong Thap does not have its own airport. Therefore, if you depart from the Northern or Central provinces, you can book a flight to Can Tho airport or Tan Son Nhat airport (HCMC). From here, you continue to travel by bus or personal vehicle to Dong Thap.
Note: To hunt for cheap air tickets, you should book tickets 3–4 months in advance or regularly follow promotions on ticket booking platforms such as Traveloka.
4.2 Traveling by bus
This is the most popular and convenient option. You can buy bus tickets to Dong Thap at Mien Tay Bus Station (395 Kinh Duong Vuong, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City) or reputable bus company offices on Le Hong Phong Street.
Some high-quality bus companies that many people choose include: Phuong Trang, Mai Linh, Kim Cuong, Dong Phat, Phu Vinh,…
Ticket prices range from 100,000 – 200,000 VND, depending on the type of vehicle (seat, sleeper, limousine…). Travel time is about 3–4 hours.
4.3 Traveling by personal vehicle
If you love freedom and want to fully enjoy the beauty of the West on every route, traveling by motorbike or personal car is the ideal choice.
From the center of Ho Chi Minh City, you depart from An Lac roundabout (District 6) or Trung Luong highway (District 7) to reach National Highway 1A. From here, go straight to My Thuan bridge, meet the intersection with a sign to Dong Thap, turn right, go about 20km more to reach Lai Vung town. Continue to turn right at the large intersection and go about 25km more to reach Cao Lanh city – the center of Dong Thap.
Note: Before going, check the vehicle carefully, bring all documents to ensure a safe trip.
4.4 Means of transport in Dong Thap
The roads in Dong Thap are quite flat and easy to travel. You can choose many means of transport such as taxi, motorbike, bus,boat. The boat will follow the route you choose, each means of transport will have different uses. For example:
- Tax: will help you move quickly to the tourist destination in Dong Thap that you want. However, the cost of travel will be quite expensive.
