It is a trading centre and meeting place for couples, friends, and relatives, and it is a typical weekly activity for the H’Mong and other minority groups living in the locality. Local products for sale or barter are carried on horseback. At the fair, adventurous gastronomes can try Thang Co porridge, a popular dish of the H’Mong and other local people.

Itinerary Details

Day 1: Sapa Arrival - Trek Lao Chai & Ta Van Village. O/n In Sapa At Homestay (B/L/D)

The night before: Night train to Lai Cai: Origin Travel’s staff pick you up in the hotel then drive to Hanoi station for a night train to Sapa (overnight on the train, the cabin with 4 berths, soft sleeper and air-conditioning), you can book the whole cabin or you can share with 2 other persons. There are several trains departing from Hanoi station between 7pm to 10pm, the journey is about 8,5 hours, the end in Lao Cai Station.

Ready for new experience in North Vietnam? Today you’re going to arrive at Lao Cai train station and a guide and driver would be there to welcome you to travel to Sapa town and guess what? You will have full day trek through the village of H’Mong, Dao, Zay minority groups at Lao Chai & Ta Van village. And it’s going to be incredible!

  • Feel free to trek through awesome road along rice terrace fields and passing through the villages with soil and land roads to reach Lao Chai village and continue to Ta Van village.
  • Have some fun while meeting and talking to local minority people en route
  • Home stay at stilt house of a hill tribe family in Ta Van village, get more of their culture and customs. Also, you will just love to enjoy their nightlife and share experiences with them.
  • Finally, have some dinner with the family and taste their local foods. Overnight in village.

Full Day activities

Get more fun! Have more time for trekking at remote villages to discover its beauties. Share more experience and cultures with the family and then leave for a new village with trekking through paths and enjoy local life and its beauties.

  • Get up early in the morning to enjoy the daily life of the ethnic minorities in the village. Breakfast at the family and take the road to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Dzao minority via the paths between terraces and through bamboo forests.
  • Visit Silver waterfall and suspension Rattan Bridge, visit the people in the village and then cross Muong Hoa valley up to the mountain to visit the last village of the trek – Supan village of the H’mong.
  • Get back to Sapa by Car/Van. On the way back, enjoy visiting the ancient stone circle where stones are decorated with ancient carvings.
  • Check in hotel. and your free time to explore the corners of Sapa town.

Bac Ha town is waiting for you! Today you’re going to leave Sapa town and return to Lao Cai ahead to Bac Ha town where you have a full day to experience Bac Ha Sundays market. What’s so special? Well. That is your chance to discover and get more knowledge of tribe groups in Sapa and surroundings. Interesting, huh?

  • You will be driving through one-of-a-kind sceneries of mountain and meeting local people on the way.
  • You will be visiting the biggest and the most original minority market in the highland and enjoy their cultures, customs and the way they exchange their goods.
  • Not only this, you will be enjoying lunch at local food stall to taste their food
  • Back Lao Cai and get on the train to return to Ha Noi. Spending night on the train.
  • Arrive Hanoi around 5:30 then find the way back to hotel buy yourself.
