Ha Giang Loop 4 Day Itinerary

Night before Day 1: Night bus Hanoi to Ha Giang. O/N on bus

You will take night bus in Hanoi around 21.30 to 22.00 for Ha Giang on AC sleeper bus. You will spend night on bus.

Morning activities:

You arrive in Ha Giang city at 5.00 and have a short rest at a guesthouse in Ha Giang City. Have breakfast after having shower after a night on bus.

At 07:30 our tour guide picks you up at guesthouse and start your trip to discover Ha Giang today. You will reach and discover Binh Duong Stream with Soan Tung cave system. It is a remarkable network of caves and underground streams weaves through the heart of the mountain, adorned with countless breathtaking stalactite formations. Often described as a majestic “gateway to heaven“, it lies nestled within awe-inspiring natural surroundings.

Have lunch at Quyet Tien.

Afternoon & evening activities:

You continue to visit and conquer Khau Lan waterfall. It requires you trek about 500m through the cool green tropical forest. It needs you 30 minutes to trek and you will have chance to reach the majestic and wild Khau Lan Waterfall – the most beautiful one in Ha Giang. You have free time to bath in the waterfall.

After that you reach Nam Dam village where is the home of Dao minority people and learn more of their cultures.

Have dinner with the family. Overnight at homestay in Nam Dam village.

Morning activities:

You can get up early to enjoy morning sound in the mountain village.

Have breakfast at the homestay, this morning you leave the household and continue the journey to the villages in Dong Van Stone Plateau.

You visit Sao Ha village (hell village) where is the ancient village is hidden deep in the forest. Home to over 20 Hmong households, this village is steeped in legends of the Dong Van bandits. It has also served as the filming location for well-known horror movies such as Tet in Hell Village and Soul Eater.

Have lunch at Pho Cao – Dong Van.

Afternoon activities:

You go on your exploring the road deep in the Dong Van Stone Plateau. You will have chance to pass through villages with extremely beautiful landscapes that not many people know about, with the highlight being the Sang Tung Stone Desert. Check in in the heart of the stone desert.

Next you visit Lao Xa village and learn about the silver craft. This is another beautiful handicraft village of the H’mong people located in the middle of the desert with the silver craft still preserved.

Check in at the hotel in Dong Van town.

Have dinner with the family.

Evening is your freely time to visit Dong Van ancient town and participate in fun activities at Dong Van Town. Homestay in Dong Van.

Morning activities:

Have breakfast at homestay. This morning you leave the homestay and continue your trip to reach other destinations in Ha Giang

You will reach the Youth Volunteer Monument which is the starting point of the White Cliff walking route. It has over 6km long and gives a great panoramic view of a large area of ​​​​the Ma Pi Leng Pass, Nho Que River, and Tu San Gorge (or called Hem Tu San) from high above.

This is also a great chance for you to check in at some beautiful spots such as Death Rock, Happy Couple Tree, Fairy Eyes… to get more discover and enjoyment.

Have lunch at local restaurant in Meo Vac Town.

Afternoon & evening activities:

You will make a motorboat to visit and explore Nho Que 3 hydroelectric lake, check in the magical rock in the middle of Phong Luu alley.

Next, you’ll travel down the Nho Que River by motorboat – your motorbike will be brought along on the boat- passing through the majestic scenery with Ha Giang on one side and Cao Bang on the other. Upon reaching the Niem Tong Hydroelectric Station, you’ll continue your journey by motorbike.

You will reach the H’mong ethnic cultural village in Pa Vi – Meo Vac, the village, designed in the distinctive and harmonious six-eight architectural style, offers a peaceful and charming atmosphere-perfect for a relaxing walk. In the evening, check in to your homestay and enjoy dinner in Pa Vi Village. Homestay at stilthouse in Pa Vi village.

Morning activities:

Have breakfast at the homestay and enjoy the morning sound at a hill tribe village in mountain to enjoy the breath of mountain.

This morning you leave homestay and travel to visit Meo Vac market (if it falls on a weekend) to better understand the market culture of the minority people.

After that you continue your trip to embark on the Tia Cua Si route, winding deep into the heart of the Stone Plateau, where you’ll be treated to sweeping panoramic views of the Nho Que River basin.

In the distance, the Sam Pun mountain range stretches toward the Vietnam – China border. The route takes you through untouched Mong villages perched on cliffs beside the Nho Que River, including Tia Cua Si, Nia Do, and Ca Chua Do.

Along the way, make a stop to check in at the Nia Do bamboo forest, nestled in the center of the rocky plateau.

Next discover the Meo Vac Sinkhole – one of the largest in Ha Giang – featuring a vast crater and remarkably unique vegetation thriving at its base.

Have lunch at Mau Due – Yen Minh.

Afternoon activities:

You spend your time to explore the beautiful Mau Due – Duong Thuong route, check in at the following locations: Lung Ho Fort, Duong Thuong valley…

After that you are on car for back Ha Giang City. You arrive in Ha Giang city, shower and rest at the tour office while waiting for the sleeper bus to pick you up.

You can choose to take an earlier bus departing between 16:30 and 17:00 to return during the day, or opt for the night sleeper bus departing at 21:00, which will get you to your destination early the next morning.

Special note: If you travel on private car from Hanoi and return on private car, this trip requires you 5 days/4 nights and overnight places can have a little change so that suitable for itinerary.
