North Vietnam loop tour 7 days from Hanoi

Morning activities:

Leave Hanoi city with our guide and driver from 7.30 am for Ha Giang (300km from Hanoi and takes around 6 hours on car). En route is the chance to see and enjoy the spectacular scenery and mountain area in North Vietnam. Have lunch on the way.

Afternoon & evening activities:

This afternoon you continue your trip to Ha Giang. You arrive in Ha Giang and have a visit at Ha Giang museum when you still have time to get the overview of Ha Giang. You also pass through Bac Sum Pass where offer the windy road and give you the wonderful view of mountain. Arrive in Quan Ba area you will have sightseeing and wonderful photographing en route as you pass over Quan Ba, visit Heaven Gate and Twin Mountain with a great panoramic view over the vast mountain areas.

Check in hotel at share homestay. Have dinner with the family and interact with local people to learn more of their culture and lifestyle and overnight at hotel in Ha Giang.

Special remark: If you wish to visit Hoang Su Phi – famous for terrace fields at villages, you should extend 1 day more and this 1st night will overnight at Hoang Su Phi instead of Quan Ba.

Morning activities:

Discover morning life at the village and can walk around for more experience and enjoyment with the local people. Have breakfast with the local family. And then you leave Ha Giang for the small communities of Yen Minh. You will visit and pass through Yen Minh pine forest which is one of the best view and scenery in Yen Minh with pass though windy road and pass. Have lunch on the road

Afternoon & evening activities:

Proceed the journey to reach Lao Và Chải valley where brings you a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful view before reaching Yen Minh . Check in homestay. Have dinner with the family and share with the local family to get more experience of local cultures and customs. Overnight at homestay.

Morning activities:

Have morning view around the village to get the enjoyment of countryside life. After breakfast at homestay. This morning you spend 2 hours in the morning to attend the back-date market of local tribal people in Pho Cao, pay a visit to Sung La valley with ancient H’mong, Dzao and Lo Lo ethnic peoples. Then spend an hour visiting the historical site of the Vuong family palace (H’mong King’s Palace) who ruled over the region, control opium production and trading until 1945. Have lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon & evening activities:

This afternoon you continue drive through Tham Ma pass where can get view and wonderful scenery of road. And then visit the rock plateau of Dong Van, an open geology museum to many scientists. After that, we drive to Dong Van town to spend the night.

Have dinner at local restaurant. Evening is the time for your free wander around Dong Van town, enjoy a cup of coffee and enjoy the nightlife of mountain town which known as the busiest in Ha Giang Province. Overnight at hotel.

Morning activities:

Get morning atmosphere at Dong Van town in the early morning for more experience. Have breakfast at local restaurant. Then this morning our guide and driver welcome you at hotel to leave Dong Van to visit Sunday Dong Van market to get more experience of local life and cultures.

And then drive over the Ma Pi Leng Pass to enjoy its magnificent and spectacular scenery en route, most of the road has been simply cut into the side of a cliff face, the Nho Quy river flows and above, the towering cliff rises to the clouds; a truly beautiful gorge below is one of the most spectacular natural sights in the country.

Take your time and soak it up, as this is one journey to savor!. Visit Ma Pi Leng II village of the Hmong people set amongst limestone rocks where the highest value of fresh water and cultivating land can be seen evidently. Have lunch at local restaurant in Bao Lac town.

Afternoon & evening activities:

This afternoon you continue our journey and sightseeing en route before zigzagging to Cao Bang. Check in homestay. Have dinner at the homestay. Evening is your free time as your own for experience at the homestay and share something with the family member. Overnight in Cao Bang.

Special note: Special in Ha Giang is “lui” market which will be held every 6 days. The markets normally last from 5.00 am ti 15.00 – 16.00 pm

Markets held on fixed days include:

1. Ma Le Market held every Saturday morning (10km from Dong Van town to northwest)
2. Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac markets held every Sunday morning.

And The “lui” markets include Lung Phin, Sa Phin, Pho Bang and Pho Cao markets. Here is the schedule of “lui” markets that are only available in Ha Giang:

• Lung Phin market: Tiger Day – Monkey Day.
• Sa Phin market: Snake Day – Pig Day.
• Pho Bang market: Rat Day – Horse Day.
• Pho Cao market: Dragon Day- Dog Day.
• Homestay in Cao Bang

Morning activities:

Have breakfast at the homestay. And now is the full day you spend in Cao Bang for excursion to Ban Gioc Waterfall. Lying on the borderline with China Vietnam each has a half waterfall, Ban Gioc claims to be the best waterfalls in northern Vietnam. You will raft along the stream and get close-up photos of the fall. For those who love photo shooting Ban Gioc waterfall is a great to take the beautiful scenery.

At the waterfall you can take a bamboo boat to view the beautiful scenery of Ban Gioc waterfall – one of the largest and possibly the most impressive waterfalls of Vietnam. You have a picnic lunch.

Afternoon & evening activities:

This afternoon you continue to visit Phat Tich pagoda and have an amazing view and scenery and then Nguom Ngao Cave (if you don’t want to visit we can skip it), one of the largest caves in the area. It has many fascinating rock formations decorating the walls and the ceilings which make you amazing for its beauties. Have dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Morning activities:

Have breakfast at hotel. This morning you leave Cao Bang and have a drive to south-west to Bac Kan province, home to Ba Be National Park called Three Lakes. When you arrive in Ba Be Lake, check into a local homestay of the Tay minority. Have lunch at the local family.

Afternoon & evening activities:

This afternoon is the opportunity to take a boat ride in this tranquil Lake for discovering its beauties. If time permits, you will visit the 300m-long cave which was a shelter during the wartime. Back the home and have dinner and share with local family to get more experience. Homestay at stilt house. Homestay in Ba Be.

Morning activities:

Wake up this morning at cock-crow, you may wish to take a short walk around the village or by the edge of the lake. Have breakfast at the family. You have more time this morning to get the discover and enjoy around the village to experience its local life.

Then return to your homestay and pack up for the drive back to Hanoi. Today, you will pass the vast tea plantation of Thai Nguyen province; the best tea of Vietnam is produced in this area. Have lunch at local restaurant on the way.

Afternoon activities:

This afternoon you continue your trip on the road to return Hanoi. You end at your hotel in Hanoi around 18.00pm. Say goodbye our guide and driver and wish you a great time with us!
