Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Ben Tre - Can Tho (L)
Morning activities
You will be picked up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and head towards the Mekong Delta. It will take you two or three hours to reach the Mekong Delta. Along the way, the view changes from urban to rural areas. You will pass through rice fields, waterways, and villages.
You will arrive in My Tho. Your first stop will be Vinh Trang Pagoda, which is one of the most beautiful and ancient temples in the Mekong Delta. After that, you will go to the river pier to take a cruise along the Tien River. You will have the opportunity to see life along the river banks.
You will then visit one of the islands in the Mekong Delta, which could be Unicorn Island or Phoenix Island. You will have the opportunity to walk through the orchards and taste some of the tropical fruits available. You will also have the opportunity to listen to traditional music from the South of Vietnam, known as Đờn ca tài tử.
Afternoon activities
You will then continue your tour by boat to Ben Tre, which is known for its production of coconuts. You will have the opportunity to visit the narrow canal of Ben Tre by a rowing boat. You will then visit a workshop that specializes in making coconut candies. You will then have a short bicycle tour or walk through the countryside.
After lunching at a local restaurant along the river, you will have a short bicycle tour or walk through the countryside. You will then head towards Can Tho City by road. It is the biggest city in the Mekong Delta. You will then check into your hotel or boutique. You will have free time in the evening to relax or go for a walk along Ninh Kieu Wharf.
